Measuring and imaging
We provide high quality expert services in research, development, and innovation with specialized infrastructure.
The high-quality research and product development activities of photonics are based on measuring and observing. Photonics Center provides companies with expert services based on long-term know-how, as well as unique equipment. The measuring and observing services utilize existing equipment, develop measuring procedures according to demand, as well as update an equipment portfolio for joint use, based on client needs. We continuously develop our infrastructure with the newest technologies, instruments, and equipment.

Manufacturing of optics
The optics manufacturing know-how of our region is world class.
Photonics Center provides companies with the know-how for micro and nanostructure manufacturing and applications, 3D printed macroscopic optics, or diamond machined precision optics, and plastic injection molding optics. Various manufacturing methods and their combination enable the creation of new features. Photonic Center has versatile equipment and facilities for the manufacturing of optics.
The Institute of Photonics offers services of micrometer and nanometer scale features. Key methods include electron beam lithography, thin film deposition, etching and replication. Other services include directly printed optical elements. Designing of optics
Photonics Center offers design-related services and training for companies and institutions. Services include designing and modelling of optical systems, micro-optics, nanophotonics, to name a few. This includes knowledge for commercial optical designing and modelling software. Different modelling approaches include, for example, sequential and non-sequential ray tracing, FMM, and FTDT.

Prototyping
Photonics Center provides services in Prototyping of precision engineered polymer and metal components, and for Metal Injection Molding of prototype parts.
Prototyping and manufacturing services of precision engineered polymer and metal components for medical, metrology, aerospace, space, defense, and consumer products. Direct machining of prototypes, polymer part designing, mold manufacturing, and small-scale injection molding.
